Hello, my name is Tamara Schreyer! I'm a resident of San Diego County and I've taught yoga in North County for over 8 years. I've trained with several well respected yoga teachers, such as: Tim Miller, SRI K. Pattabhi Jois, Richard Freeman, Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee, David Swenson, Doug Swenson, Erick Schiffmann, Bryan Kest, David Life and Sharon Gannon to name a few. My style of teaching is versatile and adaptable to all of my students. My aclasses have ranged anywhere from 30 minute guided meditations, 60 minute Vinyasa Flow, two hour heated Ashtanga Yoga, 75 minute Power Yoga, yoga with live music to Rock n Roll yoga! ( to learn more about my Rock n Roll yoga classes read more below) However,My true passion is while teaching a Vinyasa Flow class that feels more like dancing with the breath and moving to the beat of music. I like to call my form of yoga, Fusion Yoga.

The classes are physically challenging; however, there is a lighthearted, easy going and fun attitude that make these classes so unique.

Tamara’s Yoga respects and acknowledges the spiritual lineage of yoga with no commanding or rigid spiritual practices that some of the more traditional forms of yoga may teach. Rather than using the same fixed or static postures, Tamara uses continuous movements that flow and prevent the body from locking off the muscles or disrupting the blood flow and increase flexibility.
TAMARA'S YOGA FUSION FOR ATHELETES:
Tamara’s Fusion yoga is a high-energy, heated yoga workout - for athletes involved in a serious and valuable fitness routine. Fusion yoga for athletes combines modern, dynamic exercises that strengthen and balance the body by using innovative standing postures, seated stretches and twists, and meditative cool down with a powerful yoga breathing method called Ujjayi breathing. This traditional breathing method links the body and mind, increasing focus and internal heat, an important aspect of power yoga. The heat and high energy state allows the student to securely realign and balance the body, and as a result help prevent sports injury and help with recovery.
One of the unique features linking yoga and stretching is the regular focus on the breath. This development of breath awareness creates superior body control which is essential for athletes. Awareness of different areas of the body mentally reinforces the connection between mind and body; as a result, creating quicker reaction time that is essential to sports. This faster response can decrease the risk of injury. Awareness also increases balance which can improve performance
